Editor's Letter

Dear fashion and beauty lovers,

Welcome to the long awaited Spring Season and Spring Issue!

A joyful spring is finally noticeable in everyone’s step and rightfully so - Spring has almost made it in the tiny corners of our lives, and its aura is almost tangible. There might be cities and states still covered in snow, but the omnipotent and omnipresent sun indicates warmer days ahead for all of us. Winter tends to get testy and disapproving in the last days of its frigid reign, but Spring has been orchestrating a flower and rejuvenating festival for almost three months, and there is little doubt that winter will not linger any longer…

There is a time to laugh and a time to laugh some more - may all the sad days be behind us, and may we soon say farewell to negative vibes that permeated an entire year of our lives.

Spring itself symbolizes rejuvenation, life, growth, hope, and new beginnings, and on this issue, you are going to be shown how our magazine protagonists have dealt with adversity in the past, how they have faced every single difficulty, and how triumphant they feel after exiting the darkness, doubt, or barriers in their personal and professional lives. The colors in this issue will amaze you and make you wonder, but can one come out of any harsh winter unless they are exuberant and colorful? Absolutely not!

Take a front row seat and enjoy the silent show - admire the professional photos, the stories they each depict, and closely observe the details in someone’s life other than your own…

You do not need to be like anyone else, but just like all of us, we are intimately connected to each other via the desires, dreams, and hopes we so naturally share for a better future.

What is the first step to becoming more optimistic?

Well, open the door widely and welcome Spring with neither hesitation nor reservations, stay true to yourself, read this magazine from cover to cover, and fully smile - Spring is here to stay…

Bizarre Fashion - My Fashion

“Det finns inget dåligt väder, bara dåliga kläder.” - There is no bad weather, only bad clothing. - Swedish Saying

Paintings, her clothes resemble paintings, those ones that lift you up, just like a slice of tiramisu…

Confident, strong, and bold – Ilda is determined to inspire herself and everyone around her.

Ilda Tafaj has baptized her online business “bizarre.fashion” - it suits her perfectly as the word ‘bizarre’ can mean unorthodox, fantastic, unfamiliar, remarkable, and strange perhaps, but definitely singular. Ilda feels her singularity and uniqueness when she hits the streets of Tirana, the capital of Albania - everyone turns their head once or twice while some curious ones will stop her and compliment her outfits. She is flattered and left with a sweet ego boost at the end of the day, a day that can be long, challenging, and trying.

She is naturally happy, calm, and energetic; she claims her parents are the same way - positive, good-natured, and kind people. When asked if she has had any particular influences in her fashion lifestyle, she immediately mentions the Scandinavian culture/fashion and her father - she is smitten with the way Scandinavians use colors & patterns, and she will always be grateful for her father that would allow her to indulge in fashionable outfits at a young age. Ilda is infatuated with changing her daily outfits and deep inside she is highly aware that she wants her day to be better and brighter - being blanketed by the rainbow, she is successful in making any day beautiful.

Ilda has espoused this flair since college days where she would boldly wear and embrace colors no one dared at the time; imagine a combination of a red coat and green pants - it is indeed sad that social media was not around then…

Her sole purpose is self- motivation, self- inspiration and if others feel they want to take a page from her book, she gets immense pleasure from it.

The future can only hold positive vibes, plans, and dreams, and speaking of dreams, she now has the dream team: her daughter, who studies Art Design she will assist in everything related to her mother’s online business.

What is essential in this life? According to Ilda, “life must be filled with joy, colorful clothes, top notch photography of her amazing clothes, and love - this is how you conquer your fear, insecurities, and trepidations in life!”

CREATIVITY PROSPERED BY ADVERSITY

For over 24 years I have worked as a lecturer in the medical field, at the State University of Pará in Brazil. After finishing my Ph.D. in medicine, I was eager to learn something different, so I started studying interior design and I fell in love with it. The acquired knowledge aroused my interest in the design of comfortable and harmonious spaces and also on the creation of more elaborate tables. Indeed, I always loved receiving friends and family in my house. Every time I received friends, I got pictures of the tables I started creating, but I never posted them on social media. During the pandemic, due to the possibility of having enough free time, I started sharing these photos on my Instagram. On the first day, I was surprised by the number of comments the photo of the table I had created for myself and my husband had gotten. The next day, my friends started preparing one of my tables, for a photoshoot. I confess that I thought it was very strange, but I photographed and posted. In less than two months my personal account went public and my number of followers increased fivefold. From November to December 2020, I gained almost 10,000 followers just by making a Christmas table, (the most beautiful time of the year in my opinion). Today, after a year has passed, I am a table production counselor, not only in Brazil, but also in other countries like England, Canada, and Portugal. I was recently invited to sign a collection of table linen sets in a department store. I currently advise table linen producers from all over Brazil. Many partners also ask me to advertise their products. I prefer making it clear, I only accept partnerships on products I really trust and that are of high quality. People often ask me where my inspiration comes from; I always say that first, you need to love what you do, then I admit that fashion magazines are my main source of inspiration. “Four Seasons" Magazine promotes stories of people who love fashion and lifestyle, men and women who due to hard work and love for what they do, always get rewarded. The combination of colors and textures, trends in the fashion market are directly linked to the tables I make. And if you want to know my secret, I will tell you: "Do what you love with great dedication, money is a consequence, and it comes naturally".

Editor's Letter

Dear Readers,

Wear your hearts on the sleeve and confess that winter is the season you secretly await so you can dream of spring and summer again! We are all familiar with the look of apples or pears roasting and sizzling on the hearth on a winter evening - you deeply feel the comfort that comes when you accompany the roasted fruit with some sugar, nuts, and cream...but let us be adventurous and add to the winter spread a cup of hot chocolate, an elegant tall glass of red wine, a magazine, a fleece blanket, fashion articles, home decor ideas, tourist destinations, talented professionals, old jokes and stories to enchant us throughout the entire season of cold.

Winter 2020 feels like two winters in one set… the real winter that we naturally expect and the other one, quite figurative in meaning as we have witnessed the coldness of the distance among family members or friends, and lack of travel for most of the year. Yes, 2020 will be categorized as a very frigid year; however, each and every one of us has had opportunities to self-analyze, soul-search, heart-search, contemplate, meditate, work more diligently, and find true meaning in the simple joys of life.

You are all graciously invited to embark on a journey of several shiny pages filled with adventure, ambition, transformation, care, determination, and love - our celebutantes, experts, stylists, and house heroines are all driven by a fiery passion that promises to keep us all warm during the season of snowflakes.

What wishes and prayers are you whispering in this winter’s ears? 4Seasons encourages you to dream, dream, and dream some more- allow this magazine to take you inside other people’s lives, offer you light and positive vibes in every step you take… Immerse yourself in the dream of someone else and feel what they feel, dream what they dream, turn around, look at the fire in the fireplace, and smile! Winter has provided a space for you to be positive... All is well with the world!

Kindness Wrapped in Beauty

“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.” - Lao Tzu

Jurgena Kariqi - the sweetest and prettiest face on Instagram, but make no mistake; her life has had ups and downs, naturally; however, Jurgi believes that a positive approach in life will help everyone achieve a certain calm - not need to cry or cast a dark cloud on the people that surround you. Her Instagram page is a beautiful photo album where she exhibits all of her talents in photography, fashion, food, and more. She is driven by youth and passion, but at the same time, she has been studying vigorously and has secured a nursing diploma, a security that she needs on her professional journey. One aspect of her life that stands out is the fact that she is an identical twin with her sister and it is this relationship that allows Jurgi to have confidence, assurance, and hope for the future as she believes that family relationships are essential in the blossoming of the individual. Jurgi has a few bosom friends as well and she heavily relies on good vibes, love, and reciprocal rapports with everyone around her.

Our beautiful model definitely has wanderlust, but has not been able to travel much due to the 2019-2020 Pandemic; she has lived in Italy and Dubai for limited amounts of time and she eagerly awaits for more opportunities to travel the world. Jurgi is also extremely fond of being on TV, but presently, the small Instagram screen will have to suffice- she relishes every moment on it and the feedback from her followers is rather encouraging - the feedback might motivate Jurgi to pursue more hobbies like singing, drawing, and appearing on TV in the future. She is also a flower aficionado and if you observe her page, she is quite enamored with colors… She dreams of having a studio in the future, a personal space where she can fully express herself and always be surrounded by flowers. A future nurse with a nursery on the side...

Just looking at her face, one soon realizes that she offers kindness, nurturing, care, patience and love.

We look forward to seeing Jurgena embark upon new and exciting phases in her life and will certainly be cheering her on…

Jurgena gives kindness to thousands and in return she is blessed with radiating love!

Avant-Garde Goddesses

You may, with certitude, know your shoe, dress, and ring size, but do you truly know how to dress according to your body type?

● Hourglass - Always set your eyes on body contouring dresses, coats, and fitted or structured tops that highlight your waist!
● Triangle - Add balance with A-line skirts or belts & always dress in a manner that takes attention away from the lower part of your body by showing off the upper part!
● Inverted Triangle - Allow your neck and hips to steal the spotlight away and look for pieces that add volume near the hip areas to help balance your frame!
● Rectangle - Consider dresses with shoulder pads and a bit of cleavage and, as you are looking to create the appearance of curves, you’ll want tops that accentuate your top half by giving shape to your waist.

Passion, beauty, and vivaciousness characterizes adolescence and youth, but when women mature in age, they are graced with strength, confidence, competence, and vision. In no other stage of life are women more powerful and determined than when they reach their 40s and with solid reason - the challenges, hardships, and accomplishments have made them resolute. Women enter their most glorious decade when they hit forty - an awakening occurs regarding their appearance, choices, skin care and a deep realization to celebrate their internal and external beauty.

Allow us to introduce a remarkable woman and a heroine in the fashion industry, a professional who takes pride in turning realizations and dreams into realities - Zajmira Qeraxhiu! A woman, a fashion guru, an image consultant, costumist, businesswoman, and a model - Zajmira is here to impart wisdom, experience, and share tips and tricks for all women over forty. She possesses an innate passion that emanates from early childhood days; her mother would make hand-made clothes for all her offspring and Zajmira followed suit by excelling in crafts – she also never fell behind in aspirations, determination, and executing her dreams. Her experience ranges from dressing
dolls to two boutique openings in Italy - these businesses catered to Italian companies and well-known brands such as Fendi, Ralph Lauren, Maxmara, and more. She ultimately became the reference point in Tirana, Albania for all advice related to fashion, models, coats, jackets, styling, clients, and beyond. “Retrò avantgarde is her original brand & her ardent desire is to educate all women to have a fashion protocol - guidance on body type, attire or style advice, and color or fabric choices. We are capitalizing on this certified image consultant, her services that she carries out with the utmost integrity, and her rich purse of skill sets and depth of experiences which will help all women in making decisions based on season, fashion trends, profession, and occasion.
Here are a few recommendations to be added to your fashion savvy:
● If a clothing item has not been worn or used in two years, it is time to let go.
● If you want to appear slimmer, you should purchase clothes that hug your body gently, not too tight - aim for lengths that reach the midsection of the buttocks.
● If you are concerned about the midsection, never worry - just select pants or skirts that are slim fit and combine them with loose turtlenecks or blouses - you will invariably always look elegant.
● When shopping for business attire, pick pant or skirt suits, a tube dress that goes above the knee, cashmere material, scarves, and elegant heels that are not too high.
● If ever in doubt regarding tights, decide if you want to be comfortable or elegant and the answer becomes rather obvious: stockings for formal occasions and tights for super comfort.
● Always spend top dollars on coats, shoes, and purses as they are timeless.
● Pearls must be authentic and gold jewelry of the highest quality.
● You can definitely spend less on dresses and on particular jewelry that is custom made and looks stylish.
What is the takeaway?
Dare to be original - you can be your own icon. Feel free to create your own style, showcase your beauty, and act on your intuition and dreams! Take action! Own your runway!

Lifestyle - Home Décor

We have selected three Instagram Bloggers to share their ideas, passion, and tips…

These are the questions they were asked:

1. What has shaped the passion that you have for home décor, over the years?
2. What is your life credo and what do you want your followers to know about you?
3. What other activities, other than table décor, bring you joy?
4. What colors are most appropriate for the Winter Season? Are there any wrong* ways to decorate a table?

Vilma Serhati

1. I think I take after my mother. She owned a small business (floral arrangements, gift wrapping and home decor items). She always came up with innovative ideas for her generation and time.
2. You don't have to follow a trend when it comes to décor. Work with what you have and what works for you. If you truly love how something looks in your home, that's what is important in the end. Make yourself happy with what you have and what you create.
3. Being a supermom to my boys, ages 3 & 4 is my 24/7. Swimming is my favorite physical activity and reading is something that I enjoy - it relaxes me. I'm developing an interest in exotic watches and I hope to start a small business where connoisseurs like me can trade.
4. I don't think that there should be a specific color that's definitive. You can get creative with different colors, just keep a few items that represent winter and let your imagination do the rest. I don’t think there is a right or wrong way to set it up. I always decide on a theme and work around it.

Alda Brahaj

1. My passion and natural inclination toward home décor, I have been cultivating for years. I have always experimented with colors and details without ever needing any designers’ assistance. After the 2020 quarantine, I found myself feeding this passion more and thus Daily_Concept was born.
2. I hope that my followers see and feel that my simple and meaningful life is filled with love and dedication towards life itself and my loved ones.
3. My other passion besides home décor is styling, something that I have not yet revealed on my blog and that very few people know about.
4. This year, I am leaning toward white colors and nuances as I am craving more love and affection due to all that is happening around the world - I will incorporate white and gold this year into our family table décor. I would not recommend too many colors and I advise avoiding placing too many accessories as that will make the table busy and untidy. Keep everything simple and elegant.

Aurora Malesija

1. I loved to decorate an imaginary house as a child – it was a square surface on the playground, contoured by rocks. I would collect cans, Styrofoam, branches, rusty metals, broken beer bottles and I would utilize their necks as vases for flowers. My mother would save money and buy tea cups, liquor glasses, or artificial flowers - every detail was symmetrical and not cluttered in our household. I also remember my father building shelves and other items needed for the house – it my parents that fully introduced me to the world of décor.
2. My philosophy about décor is: “Less is more” - I love to see all ornaments placed on the table and not get lost in different colors or textures. I want the centerpiece to be the focal point, thus adding a touch of elegance and personality.
3. Nature, music, dancing, and travelling bring me joy.
4. For winter décor, famous designers tend to apply warm colors, leaning towards the dark, rustic tones. There are a few “innocent” mistakes that everyone can make: the fabric of the table cloth, plates that are overly busy with patterns and colors, flowers that are highly scented by overpowering the natural aromas of homemade food, and placing the cutlery and glasses on the wrong side of the plate.
